👨👧👦 Dependent Members — Parental Control
This is where you create and manage accounts for your children.
Children don't create accounts on their own —
you do it for them, and you control everything.
💡 Why dependent accounts exist
Academy250 is a maker/STEM platform where children build real projects —
3D printing, drones, electronics. But children shouldn't have
unsupervised accounts on the internet. That's why the platform
doesn't let children create accounts on their own.
Instead, you — the parent — create a dependent account
linked to your master account. The child gets their own username
and workspace, but everything goes through you:
which devices they use, which workspaces they join,
what they can access, and how many units they consume.
Your child builds. You stay in control. Always.
📍 What you see on this page
⬆️
Top — Header & Authorization
Title: Εξαρτημένα Μέλη (Dependent Members) with the description
"Μέλη που ανήκουν στην ομάδα του τηλεφώνου σου."
➡️ On the right, the orange
⚠️ Authorization Verified Required badge.
This means you must be logged in as a Verified User
(via email code) to create, edit, or manage dependent accounts.
If you're logged in via QuickPin, clicking any action will trigger
an email verification popup first.
📋
Bottom — Λίστα Εξαρτημένων Μελών
The list of all dependent accounts under your master account.
Right now it shows "Δεν υπάρχουν εξαρτημένα μέλη" —
you haven't created any child accounts yet.
Once you create one, each entry will show the child's username,
status, last login, and management buttons.
🚀 How to create a dependent account
1
Make sure you're a Verified User — log in with your email code
(not just QuickPin). The orange badge on the right must be satisfied.
2
Click the create button to add a new dependent member.
You'll need to provide: a username for the child
and a QuickPin that the child will use to log in.
3
The account inherits your email —
all notifications for the child's account go to your email.
The child never receives emails directly.
4
Set up a SafeDevice together — sit with your child,
open the browser they'll use, and mark it as a Trusted Device.
This is the only device the child can log in from.
5
Connect them to a workspace — choose which educator's workshop
or project your child will join. The child cannot join or leave
workspaces on their own — only you make that connection.
🎛️ What you control as a parent
🔌
Workspace connections — only you can connect or disconnect
your child from an educator's workspace.
💻
Device access — only you can add or remove SafeDevices.
The child cannot register new devices or log in from unapproved browsers.
🔑
QuickPin — only you can set or change the child's QuickPin.
If the child enters the wrong PIN 3 times, everything locks —
and only you can re-enable it.
💳
Purchases — the child cannot make any purchase.
No Usage Packs, no content unlocks, no transactions.
All billing goes through your master account.
💰
Units — you transfer credits from your MAIN Quota
to the child's account. You set how much they can consume.
👁️
Content visibility — the child only sees content
from workspaces you've approved. They cannot browse other workspaces,
other educators, or other users.
📊
Progress — you see everything your child does:
tasks completed, sessions attended, activity history.
Full visibility from your own dashboard.
🚫
Account deactivation — you can deactivate your child's account
at any time. All workspace connections are severed, all SafeDevices invalidated.
You can reactivate it later if needed.
👧 What your child can and can't do
✅ Can do
✅ Log in from their SafeDevice with QuickPin
✅ Work on projects in approved workspaces
✅ Complete tasks and track their progress
✅ Use AI tools within the workspace
✅ Access the Help Desk for support
✅ View libraries and download project files
❌ Cannot do
❌ Create an account on their own
❌ Join or leave a workspace
❌ Add or change SafeDevices
❌ Change their QuickPin
❌ Make any purchase or transaction
❌ Log in from an unapproved device
❌ Browse content outside approved workspaces
❌ Modify account settings
🔐 How your child logs in
Dependent accounts do not have their own email.
The child logs in only with QuickPin on a SafeDevice —
there is no other way in.
✅ Child's login flow:
open browser → sees their username → enter QuickPin → in.
No email, no forms, no verification codes.
⚠️ If QuickPin fails 3 times — SafeDevice and QuickPin
are automatically disabled. The child is locked out.
Only you (the parent) can set it up again by logging in
with your email code and reconfiguring the child's account.
👁️ Parent Access — See what your child built today
Once your child is connected to a workspace, you get
Parent Access — a direct view into their workshop
from your own dashboard. You see the same project,
the same tasks, the same progress.
📋 Tasks — what they completed today, what's in progress, what's next.
📊 Progress — overall completion percentage, how far along in the course.
📚 Knowledge — the curriculum itself, what the educator teaches.
📜 Event Log — full history of every session and milestone.
💬 Help Desk — communication with the educator, inside the project.
Instead of asking "What did you do today?" and getting "Nothing" —
you open the project and see it yourself. Then you can say
"I saw you did the temperature tower — how did it come out?"
That's a different conversation entirely.
🔒 Privacy — Who sees what
👨👩👧
You (the parent) — everything.
Full account, all workspaces, all progress, all activity,
all connected devices. Complete oversight.
👩🏫
The educator — only the child's progress
within their workshop. Not the child's other workspaces,
not your account, not any personal information
beyond the username and workshop activity.
👧
Your child — only their own work
within approved workspaces. Not other students,
not the educator's dashboard, not any billing
or account management information.
👨👧👦 Multiple children
You can create multiple dependent accounts from your single
master account. Each child gets their own username, QuickPin,
and SafeDevice setup. Each one can be connected to different
workspaces independently. You manage all of them from this page —
one place to see all your children's accounts, devices, connections, and progress.
⚠️
With great control comes responsibility.
You have full power over your child's account —
which means you can also accidentally block them
from doing things they need for their workshop.
✅ Do coordinate with the educator before disconnecting your child from a workspace.
✅ Do test your child's SafeDevice login together before the first workshop.
✅ Do keep your own master account email accessible — all notifications go to you.
❌ Don't remove SafeDevices or change QuickPins right before a workshop session.
❌ Don't share your master account credentials with your child.
🔴
Important: Deactivating a dependent account
severs all workspace connections and
invalidates all SafeDevices.
The child loses access to everything immediately.
You can reactivate the account later, but workspace connections
will need to be re-established. Think carefully before deactivating.
