Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how refunds work for Usage Packs purchased on the Academy250 platform, and how you may cancel your account. It forms part of the Terms of Service and should be read alongside them.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, contact us within 30 days of your purchase date and we will issue a full refund. No forms, no explanations required.

1. Nature of the Service

1.1 Academy250 is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that provides digital tools for project-based making, including Project Templates and AI Wizards. Makers purchase Usage Packs that grant metered access to the platform's features.

1.2 A Usage Pack allocates Project Units to your Usage Account. You then distribute these Project Units into two consumption pools: Platform Access Time (for time-metered features) and AI Compute (for AI Wizards). Project Units represent prepaid service access — they are not currency, stored value, or a financial instrument of any kind.

1.3 All transactions on the Academy250 platform are processed by polar.sh, who acts as our Merchant of Record. polar is the seller of record for all purchases and is responsible for billing, VAT collection, and payment processing.

2. Our Refund Commitment

2.1 We offer a full refund within 30 days of your purchase date, for any reason. You do not need to explain why you are requesting a refund.

2.2 This applies to all Usage Pack purchases made through the Academy250 platform, regardless of how many Project Units have been consumed at the time of the request.

2.3 Refund requests submitted within the 30-day window will be approved and processed without review of usage or circumstances.

2.4 This policy is consistent with and supported by our Merchant of Record, polar.sh. You may also contact polar directly via polar.sh for billing support.

Process

3. How to Request a Refund

3.1 To request a refund, email billing@academy250.com within 30 days of your purchase date.

3.2 Your request must include:

1 The email address associated with your account
2 Your order or payment reference number
3 The date of purchase

3.3 We will acknowledge your request within 1 business day and confirm refund approval. Processing is handled by polar and typically completes within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.

3.4 You may also initiate a refund request directly through polar's buyer support portal at polar.sh.

4. Refund Processing

4.1 Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. We do not issue refunds via alternative payment methods or cash.

4.2 Refunds are processed in the original transaction currency. Any differences due to exchange rate fluctuations between the purchase date and the refund date are not compensated by us.

4.3 All refunds are processed through our Merchant of Record, polar.sh. Typically, refunds take 5–10 business days after approval to appear on your statement, depending on your bank or card issuer.

4.4 Upon refund confirmation, any corresponding Project Units remaining in your Usage Account will be deactivated. Your account will remain open unless you separately request account closure under Section 5.

5. Account Cancellation

5.1 You may cancel (close) your account at any time by contacting support@academy250.com. There is no cancellation fee.

5.2 Because Academy250 operates on a pay-as-you-use model — not a recurring subscription — there is no "next billing cycle" to cancel. You simply stop purchasing Usage Packs when you no longer need the service.

5.3 Dependent Accounts. If you are a Primary Account Holder, cancelling your account will also close all Dependent Accounts linked to it. You are responsible for informing any Dependent Account holders before requesting cancellation. Content from Dependent Accounts will be available for export during the 30-day period described in Section 6.

5.4 We will process your cancellation request within 5 business days and send a confirmation email once your account has been closed.

6. Effect of Cancellation on Project Units

6.1 Upon account cancellation, any remaining Project Units in your Usage Account are deactivated. We recommend consuming or requesting a refund for unused units before requesting account closure.

6.2 Project Units represent prepaid metered access to a software service. They hold no monetary value, cannot be transferred to another user, and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash.

6.3 Content export. Before or within 30 days after account closure, you may request an export of your content (and content from linked Dependent Accounts, if applicable) by contacting support@academy250.com. After 30 days, content may be permanently deleted.

7. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

7.1 We encourage you to contact us at billing@academy250.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Given our 30-day no-questions-asked refund policy, almost all billing concerns can be resolved directly and quickly.

7.2 If a chargeback is filed, polar — as our Merchant of Record — will manage the dispute process on our behalf. We reserve the right to suspend account access pending resolution of an open dispute.

7.3 Chargebacks determined to be fraudulent or abusive may result in permanent account termination and may be reported to the relevant payment processor.

8. Changes to This Policy

8.1 We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email to your registered address and/or a prominent notice on the Platform.

8.2 The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent revision took effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
